It will not be an exaggeration to say that Mathematics is the heart and soul of engineering. No engineering can be complete without a sound grounding in Mathematics. The Department of Applied Mathematics has been commendably carrying out its task of imparting instructions in basic Mathematics courses in first & second year and then offering a number of electives to the senior students. These electives have been tailored keeping in mind the requirements of the present day. The department also teaches the subjects of Mathematics at the Post Graduate level like MBA, MCA and ME programmes of the Institute. Highly qualified and dedicated Faculty with reputation for high quality teaching is the good will of the department.

The department has been recognized as a Research Center for carrying out PhD Programme. R&D activities include Celestial Mechanics, Dynamical Astronomy, General Theory of Relativity, Functional Analysis, Fuzzy Logic & Operator Theory etc. the faculty members are also engaged in interdisciplinary research activities and have a very good number of published research papers in International and National Journal of repute.
